is used in the
production of packaging which uses a gas as a propellant for the
product inside the container or can. Cans of spray paint are aerosol
containers. The gas within the container is held under pressure so
that when the product is given an outlet, such as pushing the trigger,
the gas under pressure expands to fill a greater volume and reduce
that pressure. By filling a greater volume, the gas displaces the
product in the container. The product is then propelled out, such as
paint in a spray paint can.
