GLUE CARTONER EQUIPMENT -
Cartoners
range in price from $3,750 to $197,000.
Glue Cartoners:
Glue cartoners are designed to use glue to seal the flaps of the
carton. In a glue cartoner, the minor carton flaps are closed on both
ends of the carton and the bottom major flap is closed. Glue is
usually applied to the inside of the open major flap or to the top of
the folded major flap.
Glue cartoner can
also be designed with other configurations for the glue application
and carton sealing. The open major flap is then closed on top of the
other major flap. Hot melt glue is most often used, either glue pots
with glue application wheels, or hot melt glue systems with glue
application nozzles are used to apply the glue. Usually, the carton is
compressed for a given duration of time in a glue cartoner to allow
the glue enough time to set up and create a solid carton seal.
