RF (Radio Frequency) Blister Sealer
An
RF blister sealer, or radio frequency blister machine, are designed to
seal two blisters together by using radio frequency creating a
blister-to-blister package. RF blister sealers create a package made
of plastic that is shaped on both sides to follow the form of the
product. The consumer electronics industry especially the gaming
industry, have embraced this type of double blister packaging for
their products.
A radio frequency blister sealer has the bottom blister placed into
the machine tooling, the product placed into the bottom blister, and a
second blister placed on top of both the product and the bottom
blister. The double blister package is then indexed below the radio
frequency sealing head.
Tooling for the radio frequency sealing head is designed to contact
the package only where the two blisters make contact with one another.
The two complementary blisters for the package are designed so that
sealing the area where the two blisters make contact creates a full
seal for the product.
The sealing head uses radio frequencies to weld the two plastic
blisters together where the tooling contacts the blister. The package
resulting from a radio frequency blister sealer resembles a clear
plastic clam shell, which has been closer around the product.
